Sports Massage – Area Specific
(45 minutes)

Sports massage is ideal for anyone seeking treatment for injuries or repetitive strains that have developed over time in specific soft tissue, fascia, and muscle areas. This targeted approach focuses on the body parts that are healing or need relief.

Sports massage involves the manipulation of soft tissue, benefiting individuals who engage in regular physical activity. Originally developed to help athletes prevent and recover from injuries, sports massage is now widely used by both athletes and non-athletes to alleviate the effects of physical injury. The technique includes fast-paced massaging, stretching, and other methods to promote healing.

This method can be utilized as a pre-workout stretch, tailored to prepare the muscles before physical activity, or as a post-workout massage designed to aid muscle recovery and reduce soreness.

Deep tissue massage is the ideal choice for relief from general pain and tension. Unlike treatments that focus on a specific body part, this technique is administered as a full-body treatment, providing comprehensive relief.

Deep tissue massage is particularly effective for treating muscular issues caused by strains or sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using deep strokes to target the deeper layers of muscles and tissues. This technique helps break down scar tissue from previous injuries and reduces muscle tension in specific areas. The firm pressure used in deep tissue massage effectively addresses muscle and tendon injuries, alleviating pain and stiffness in major muscle groups and joints.

Swedish massage is a popular and widely practiced form of therapeutic massage that aims to promote relaxation, alleviate muscle tension and enhance overall well-being.

Employing a combination of gentle gliding strokes, kneading, tapping, friction, and stretching, this massage targets the superficial layers of muscles. The primary goal of Swedish massage is to encourage relaxation, improved blood circulation, ease muscle knots, and reduce stress and tension.

During a Swedish massage session, our massage therapist typically uses a choice of Absolute Aromas pre-blended aromatherapy oils to facilitate a more relaxing experience combined with smooth and fluid movements across the body using effleurage, petrissage, kneading and Tapotement techniques. You can choose from Detox, Refresh, De-stress and Mobility oils. The therapist's hands, palms and fingertips will be used to deliver varying degrees of pressure, catering to the individual's preferences and specific areas of tension. The strokes employed in Swedish massage not only promote relaxation but also assist in the removal of metabolic waste products from muscles and tissues, thereby contributing to improved physical and mental well-being.

We also offer a Hot Stone and Swedish hybrid Massage  treatment. This massage starts by using hot stones to help relax the muscles and enable some deeper work. A relaxing Swedish massage then follows to help ease any tension and tightness in the neck, shoulders and lower back in a more gentle way.
