B12 injection
Vitamin B12 injections

Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamine, is a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally found in some foods. Due to limited dietary intake, insufficiency or deficiency is relatively common, with over one in 10 of the UK population reported as being Vitamin B12 deficient. Those who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet are more likely to be deficient as Vitamin B12 is mainly found in animal-based products.

Fatigue, mental fog, pale skin, and low energy levels are some of the commonly seen symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency which vary between individuals. A regular B12 injection at our monthly clinic offers a quick and effective solution to replenish your body's B12 levels.

A second B12 injection is recommended two weeks after the first to gain maximum benefit, then one B12 Injection every 4 to 8 weeks thereafter.

Our Vitamin clinics will run once a month, with a mini clinic running in between for those requiring interim booster injections.

Vitamin C injections

Vitamin C injections are a direct infusion of pure Vitamin C into your bloodstream via intramuscular (IM) injection.

Vitamin C, a potent natural antioxidant, that protects the body against the effects of harmful agent.  It is essential for skin health, blood vessels, bones, and cartilage. Deficiency can lead to sluggishness, fatigue, increased illness susceptibility, and a tired appearance.

Injecting Vitamin C delivers the 'optimum' amount of this vital vitamin contributing to your overall health & wellbeing. Because the injections are delivered directly into the bloodstream, they are perfect for those with sensitive stomachs, as oral supplements can irritate the stomach. The body only absorbs 15% of an oral supplement, whereas it can take in much more when it is delivered via an inter muscle injection.  Vitamin C has a positive impact on skin pigmentation, free radicals, resistance to allergies and some health conditions.

A Vitamin C injection is recommended every 3 to 4 months.

Vitamin D injections

We now provide 100,000 IU Vitamin D3 injections at our monthly clinics at Physical Balance.

Vitamin D injections can offer a boost for your health, and could be suitable if you are feeling run down, have a chronic health condition, gut problems, or simply aren’t getting enough Vitamin D from your lifestyle and/or diet.   Although we get Vitamin D from our food, we generally don't get enough, and what we do eat is usually poorly absorbed. Our bodies also create Vitamin D from sunlight on the skin. The challenge with this is that we need to protect our skin from harmful UV rays. Sunscreen with SPF 30 and above effectively blocks out UVB rays, indirectly reducing Vitamin D production by up to 95%.  It is thought that around 20% of the UK population is deficient in Vitamin D especially between the winter months of October to March.

A Vitamin D injection is recommended once a year.

Symptoms of a Vitamin D deficiency:

A Vitamin D deficiency can put you at higher risk of health conditions including heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and depression. Signs that you may need more Vitamin D include the some of the following symptoms:

  • Fatigue and low energy levels

  • Low mood

  • Eczema

  • Musculoskeletal aches and pains

  • Muscle weakness

  • Hair loss

  • Generally feeling unwell

  • Impaired cognition

What are the benefits of Vitamin D injections?

Vitamin D ingested orally can take weeks, even months, to have an impact on your health – and much of the dose is lost when it is converted in the gut. However, intramuscular Vitamin D injections have a much more immediate impact – some patients report feeling the effects right away. And because the vitamins are administered directly into the muscle, bypassing the gut, a much higher percentage of the vitamins can be utilised by the body.

Prior to your Vitamin D injection, our Practitioner will discuss your symptoms and medical history and will complete a simple deficiency test. The results of which take around 10 minutes.
