Thai herbal therapy dates back almost 5,000 years to an era where the knowledge of plants was researched and passed from one generation to the next. Compresses made from muslin are filled with herbs including ginger, turmeric, kaffir lime leaves, camphor, citronella, myrtle and lemongrass. These are heated within a steamer and applied to the body in a rolling action to release tension using a combination of heat and pressure. The absorption of herbs, in the same way aromatherapy oils penetrate the skin and circulate in the blood stream, aid healing and bring the body and mind back into balance to create a sense of well-being.
