Pregnancy Yoga
Prenatal Yoga is specifically designed for pregnancy to provide emotional and physical mind-body support. The key areas of focus during your class are breathing, stamina, pelvic floor work, restorative poses, and core strength.
Pregnancy Yoga with Beth
Staying active during your pregnancy can have lots of benefits not just for you, but also your baby, both during and after pregnancy. Yoga can be a gentle way to do this, ensuring there isn't too much strain on your joints.
If you practice yoga during pregnancy, it can help you focus on your body and use your breath to stay calm, which may help you during labour.
Starting yoga – key points:
-
If you are new to yoga, it will be much more beneficial to do a pregnancy specific class, and also let your instructor know you are new to Yoga.
-
There are many styles of yoga - a gentler, slower paced style such as Hatha is beneficial during pregnancy.
-
If you have been doing yoga for a while, it is fine to continue while you are pregnant but do let your instructor know and they can tailor any poses accordingly. Stay with what you find comfortable and focus on improving your yoga technique while you are pregnant. Avoid any new or advanced postures.
